Riverboat Days Finds

I had a great time camping this last weekend. When I wasn't busy lounging at the campsite and cruising down the bike trails (Which were so close to Lewis and Clark Lake I could hear the waves!) or daydreaming on the bench in the pretty picture below, I visited the annual Riverboat Days Arts Festival in Yankton, South Dakota not too far from our campground.

My bench for the weekend with a view of the lake and the bluffs. (And you can't see it, but the bike trail is right behind the bench.)
It's been years since I've gone to Riverboat Days with my family, and it's as much fun as I remember. First, on Friday night there were fireworks. Here's a bright and shiny picture:

We sat right near the water, and before the fireworks started all these bugs kept flying from the tall grass and the water at the people waiting for the show to begin. I don't what they were, but there were lots of them, and they kept running into my forehead.

Two kids who tried to catch some of the bugs. See those white circles around them? Those are all bugs; they didn't photograph well.

We went back Saturday afternoon to browse through the maze of food vendors, artists, and other crafty types selling their wares. Here are a few of my favorite finds:

Sign reads "Fairy Houses for your Garden"

One of the coolest, most whimsical fountains I've ever seen.

Humorous Clocks . However you feel about our current president, you've gotta admit this clock is at least a little funny.

The Writer's Clock!

And, finally, the clock I wish I could switch over to every now and then.

I also had a great time looking through the Art Moms booth and got a little something to hang in mine and Kayla's dorm room when we move in after Labor Day. I'll show it to you later :)

My favorite booth, though, was Rebecca Scott Designs. There were so many cute purses, but they were all a little too spendy for me--August is an expensive month, textbook buying and whatnot. But it's still super fun to look :)
