Review Policy

I love reading books and thinking about them, and am more than happy to accept books for review. Young adult novels are my main interest, but I also appreciate adult and middle grade titles with crossover appeal. I accept both upcoming titles and books that are already published, but I usually do not accept e-books or PDFs. (Although it never hurts to ask; maybe I'll decide to try something electronic.) In addition to book reviews, I will also happily conduct interviews or--when time allows--hold contests.

If you are interested in featuring a book on Bookduck, please e-mail me at bookduck@hotmail.com and include when you would like a review posted by. While I enjoy blogging, it's not my job; I'm a full-time student with a part-time job and limited free time. For this reason, I reserve the right to post reviews at my convenience if a review deadline conflicts with an academic one. I also reserve the right to refuse a request if I don't believe I have the time to do a title justice. I also may choose to refuse a request if I have no interest in the title. And in case this next statement is not obvious, I do not accept money in exchange for reviews.

I don't enjoy posting negative reviews, and I mostly feature books that I feel good about recommending. If I absolutely cannot get into a book sent for review, I may choose to post a short feature on it and why I couldn't get into it rather than a negative review. All reviews on Bookduck are composed of my honest opinions.

You can find my SiteMeter at the bottom of the page, which includes traffic information for Bookduck. Also, I disclose the source of the books I feature within my reviews, as well as the source of any promotional items given away in contests.

Feel free to e-mail me with questions, and thanks for considering Bookduck,
